A standing invitation

The purpose of this page is to tell you it’s okay to get in touch.

In college a very intelligent classmate of mine was struggling in a class and had heard I was doing very well. He heroically asked me for help. Now I was barely half a step ahead of him but it’s hard to know these things from either direction. I agreed because I like being helpful. What I learned was that needing to try and find various ways to explain what I barely understood made me understand it even better.

I never had to study again, which was good because I wasn’t very good at it in the first place.

What I am open to

Consulting I currently have a full time job and my family and my health and that job will take priority. But for a good opportunity to learn or make money I can usually make some time.
Coaching I’m not really a coach or a teacher but maybe we could work something out and if I can help and we can come up with making it a good value trade for both of us then I can find a way to support this.
Talks I think I’d like to try my hand at some technical talks. I have lots of experience doing it in a business context, be it training, or conference reveals.
Interesting Conversation Why not give it a shot. Maybe we hop on a video call, or maybe we meet in person somewhere and share a tea or a whiskey.

Speed

I will get back to you on my schedule which may be slower than you want. It may be instantly. I am not actively looking for a full-time role. Even if you don’t have a budget but there’s a chance to learn something interesting I might try it out.

It’s usually better if you tell me what the problem is and not what you think the solution is. Nerd snipe me with something I can’t stop thinking about and try and stop me from helping you with your problem.
