What I’m doing now
UpdatedResearching for this website rebuild I learned about a /now page and decided I liked this idea. What I’m interested in roughly monthly or quarterly or whenever I decide to change it.
Work: Hoping to really launch a major architectural change that I think is fully aligned with the company’s goals. And trying to really apply and concretize the concepts I learned from Joe Rohde’s book Floating Mountains.
Building: Right this moment my side project of the week (my Launch initiative) is this website, the blog, and my whole publishing workflow on how I’ll put things out there. I want to have a ton of fun with this through the rest of the year to make it a routine to use it. Because next I’ll want to use it to market some things.
Reading: I’m really trying to do a ton of reading going forward. I had a successful 29 day binge of all 110 episodes of Community to prepare for a panel at NYCC based on Ash’s recommendation. This encouraged me that I can make time for stuff and that stuff should be reading. So I listened to Floating Mountains and now I’m finishing up a book from a White Elephant book exchange: Devolution and then I plan to actually finally finish Shōgun yes I bought it because I played the C64 game which I picked up from Babbages because it looked neat, and then I did watch the TV series but I need to finish.
At home: It will be Christmas break for my girls soon and I actually don’t want to be rushing at the last minute to find gifts, so I want to get started on that. And I also want to clean up my garage and basement/lab/home-office before it gets too cold in the garage.
Away: Nothing big planned soon, a work trip in October. I’ll probably try to get one more use out of my WDW Annual pass before the end of the year, and then the real big trip is Michelle’s Cotswolds group trip next summer. If it’s not sold out yet you should join us.
